QEW Niagara to Bartlett Ave in Grimsby. West (right) off the QEW, North (right) on Bartlett to Lake Street. West (left) on Lake Street to Parking on the left.
The Parking is located off Lakes Street at the Corner of Baker Road and Lake Street. There is no parking at the race site. The race site is 430 meters from the parking area.
Individual Race Entry Refund/Transfer Policy
There will be NO TRANSFERS from SPRINT RACE to the TRY-A-TRI or vice versa.
Race entry refunds will be permitted for medical reasons only (must provide a medical note). 50% will be refunded up to 2 weeks prior to the event. No refunds for any reason will be issued within 2 weeks of the event.

SWIM COURSE: The swim takes place in Lake Ontario of Nelles Beach Park. The swim will be point to point, parallel to the shore. The athlete will have the ability to touch the bottom at anytime. Athletes can walk along the shore to the race start.
BIKE COURSE: The bike takes place on Lake Street which turns into the North Service Road the ride is flat. The route is an out and back with only one turn at the turn around. The route utilizes Niagara’s water front trail system
RUN COURSE: The run course utilizes the residential area of Grimsby by the lake and NO longer uses the trail section. The route is mostly flat and all on pavement!
Athletes will start in waves by age group for the swim.
Swim Wave Starts
You must start in your swim wave. You are assigned based on the Triathlon Ontario age rule, which means you are racing based on your age as of 12/31/2025. Your swim wave will be noted on your packet. If you would prefer to race in the last wave of the race visit the solutions table on race day
Arrival on Race Morning
Early arrival is recommended to allow time for you to park, set-up transition and get ready for a terrific race day. Try-A-Tri Transition will open at 12:00pm with a race start at 1:015pm. Athlete wristbands will allow you in and out of transition.
Wetsuit Rules
Wetsuits will be allowed on race day if the water temp is below 24 C / 75.2 F. The decision regarding wetsuit usage will be made race day.
Try-A-Tri Age Group Awards
Awards to the top 3 finishers in each age group We will have 14 age groups: Junior; 20 – 24; 25 – 29; 30 – 34; 35 – 39; 40 – 44; 45 – 49; 50 – 54; 55 – 59; 60 – 64; 65 – 69; 70 – 74; 75 – 79; 80+
All Try-A-Tri finishers will receive a custom finisher medal.
Strollers, Inline Skates, Rollerblades, Headphones and Dogs Not Allowed On Course
For the safety of all participants, strollers, inline skates, rollerblades, headphones and dogs are not allowed on the course at any time.
Age Requirements:
Under Triathlon Ontario rules you must be 14 years old by December 31, 2025 to participate in the Try-A-Tri event.
Age Up Rule
WTF will use the “Age Up Rule” for award distribution and ranking. The age up rule means you are racing based on your age as of 12/31/2025. This action aligns with regular age group racing with the method used by Triathlon Ontario.
All participants are expected to attend packet pick up Saturday in person. All participants must show a photo ID, and all Triathlon Ontario annual members additionally must show their membership card. Each participant must pick up their own packet. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Special notice to participants in regard to Triathlon Ontario Membership for Registration
Participants MUST bring proof of annual membership or purchase a one-day permit. Athletes who do not bring/show proof of membership must purchase a one-day OR will not be allowed to race. If you purchased the one day license when you registered, your name will be on a list we have and you do not need to bring anything other than photo ID.

The Subaru Triathlon Festival for Women will feature a two-day expo held at Nelles Beach Park. The event expo provides an opportunity to maximize exposure of your products to participants and spectators. The expo is free and open to the public. Vendors can sell or sample products, demonstrate equipment and services and distribute literature.
